Update! Finally!

The past few months have been busy! So busy that we have just abandoned the blog as we try to keep up with our very busy baby! Here's what he's doing as he approaches the five month mark:

- reaching for his toys and even grabbing with both hands
- staring longingly at everything we eat and drink. He's obsessed with our water bottles!
- teething. He loves his Sophie giraffe, dads stump, and his own hands
- laughing when mom sings or when we do Ugaboo!
- smiles when he sees a familiar face (especially a tanta)

Paul has another weight check at the pediatrician next week. He last weighed in at almost 15 pounds and over two feet long!

Progress Report

Paul is almost five weeks old now! Here's what he is doing these days:
- Getting a little tummy time.
- The cobra. If we put him on our chests, he will arch his upper body back and turn his head slowly from side to side!
- Getting fatter. At his last pediatricians appointment, he weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces!
- Getting taller. He has grown and inch and a half since he was born....he's now 21 inches long
- Making eye contact ( or so we would like to believe)
- Chortling. He sounds like John Stewarts impression of George Bush
- Spending more time awake and alert
- Eating incessantly
- Recovering from a little battle with baby acne.

Yesterday, we celebrated several "firsts"
- First time out of state (went to New Jersey)
- First flea market (slept in the Bjorn on Daddy's chest the whole time)
- First auction (served his purpose by distracting potential competitors, allowing Dad to win a pair of matching taxidermy water buffalo!)
